Europeana Space Launches a Series of Hackathons0 0 May 13, 2015
Europeana Space project aims to increase and enhance the creative industries’ use of Europeana and other online collections of digital culture content, by delivering a full range of resources to support their engagement. CRe-AM and Europeana Space signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to underline the synergies between the two projects and foster potential opportunities of collaboration.
As part of its core activities, Europeana Space is organizing a full range of Hackathons based on the pilots developed within the project. The first one, dedicated to the creation of new multi-screen experiences, took place last week in Amsterdam at the Waag Society under the title “Hacking Culture Bootcamp”.
The next scheduled ones will take place in Prague (November 2015), Athens (January 2016), Leuven (February 2016), Coventry (Early 2016) and Venice (March 2016). All of them, as well as Amsterdam’s one, will explore one of the six pilots developed by Europeana Space, which includes Europeana TV, Dance, Open & Hybrid Publishing, Photography, Games and Museums. These hackathons’ objectives are to bring new innovative applications of the pilots and to create new creative models of digital content re-use.
